General Monster Lore
Taught in a cross-department collaboration with Arcanology (Magical Creatures) and Theology (Spiritual Creatures), this course is intended to give students a solid baseline understanding of the threats they are most likely to encounter.
Monster Lore Training
Skill
Bonus to pass on tests of skill to:
Identify or research creatures and their weaknesses, strengths, behavior, ecology, and habitats. Judge the state and threat level of a creature. Detect the presence or past presence of a creature based on evidence. Determine which parts of monsters are tasty, and which are unsafe to eat. Harvest materials from monsters. Create your own monsters, or items from monster parts!
This bonus to tests of skill is a training bonus.
If you have more than one training bonus which applies to the same roll, use the best one.
Harvesting:
You can harvest resources from a dead monster, and can harvest certain resources from an incapacitated or compliant monster.
The DC to harvest one vial of a poison from a poisonous monster is the same as the DC to craft it.
You may also harvest ingredients for cooking, alchemy, or crafting from a monster with a DC appropriate to the difficulty of collecting them.

Go for the Weak Spot!
Passive.
When you spend an action studying an enemy,
and pass a test of Monster Lore on it by enough to learn its weaknesses,
you may choose to make you or an ally of your choice more effective against that enemy during their next turn by using this information.
During your chosen target’s next turn,
they deal double damage to that enemy,
they have advantage on rolls to hit that enemy,
and that enemy has disadvantage on saves against spells with the blast tag cast by them.
(You may give this bonus to a pet or summon.
If you choose yourself, only you get this bonus, not your pets and summons.)
(This bonus does not stack.)
