You can make your Heavy ranged weapons which have the Loading property fire almost anything with sufficient heft that is not too large as ammunition, and you probably won’t be too far off target, either. Rocks, bottles, cans of nails, little buddies, etc.
If you use an alchemical in this way, use the alchemical’s damage instead of (not in addition to) the weapon’s damage.
