Trigger:
When you hit with a melee spell, or a melee weapon which is not being dual wielded, or once with each dual wielded melee weapon
Cost:
3 stamina
Defense:
Contest of skill

Try to grab a target you hit with a melee weapon or spell.

Dual Wield:
Unlike most techniques, you must hit once with each dual wielded weapon during the same turn to trigger this ability while dual wielding.

There are a variety of ways to execute this ability. You could grab them with a free hand, put them in a hold with your weapon, or impale them on your weapon.
Without this ability, it normally takes an action to grab a creature.

You cannot use other techniques with this attack.

Grab:
As an action, you may try to grab an adjacent creature.
You may use a free hand, or a one or two handed weapon to grab. You can only grab one creature per hand, at most.
To grab a creature, you must win a contest of skill against them.
Typically, you will use your health modifier and Strength (Physical Training) skill bonus, plus any situational modifiers on rolls to grab, opposed by an opponent’s test of skill to escape. If your roll is at least as high, or higher than the creature you are trying to grab’s roll, you grab them.
If there is a size category difference between creatures involved in a grab, the bigger creature gets advantage on its roll.

You may drag a creature you are grabbing with you when you move (though if they are not smaller, you may not be able to move or move as far).
(If you try to drag them into a hazard, they get to try to escape as a reaction.)
A grabbed creature which can still move, even though it is grabbed, drags you with it when it moves.
You may release a creature you are grabbing and end the grab at any time.

Grabbed:
What being grabbed does depends on the sizes of the creatures involved.
A creature grabbed by a creature the same size as it or bigger than it cannot move, and rolls to hit it have advantage.
A creature grabbed by a creature one size smaller than it has halved Speed, and rolls to hit it have advantage.
A creature grabbed by a creature two or more sizes smaller than it is unaffected.
Grabbing a creature that is the same size as you halves your Speed.
Grabbing a bigger creature immobilizes you.

As a move or action, a grabbed creature can attempt a contest of skill to escape from each creature that is grabbing it.
A creature also stops being grabbed if it is no longer within the reach of the creature grabbing it, or the creature grabbing it is disabled (cannot act).
