The target must pass a health save, or they become diseased with an affliction that reduces the effectiveness of healing on them, putrefying, blackening, and rotting every wound they suffer.

If you pass a DC 10 test of Spellcraft when you cast it, you may mutate this spell to curse the target instead, allowing it to sap the vital energy from a wider variety of creatures.
