You shield yourself with a magic barrier which can take a certain amount of damage for you, based on your mastery of this spell, before dissipating.

This spell gives you a number of Shield Points.
Shield Points are like extra HP, but cannot be healed by healing abilities.
When you would take damage, you may subtract that damage from your Shield Points instead of your HP.
If this reduces your Shield Points to 0, you take any remaining damage.
(ex: If you have 1 Shield Point left and you take 10 damage, the shield would break, and you would take 9 damage.)
When you run out of Shield Points from this spell, the shield breaks and the spell ends.

You can only have one Energy Shield at a time, but casting Energy Shield while you have another will refill your Energy Shield’s Shield Points.
Dispelling this spell removes your Energy Shield.
You can end this spell as a fast action (if for some reason you want to).

Suggested Backfire: You take your Energy Shield’s Shield Points in elemental damage.

You may now redirect damage that would be taken by any allies you can see to your Energy Shield.
They take any damage in excess of your Energy Shield’s Shield Points. When used in this way, the Energy Shield benefits from their resistance and damage reductions instead of yours.

You may break your Energy Shield instead of making a spellburn roll to power a spellburn spell.
Arcane Proxy

You may break your Energy Shield instead of frying a spell or panic frying all spells.
Explosive Shield

Requires: Mastery
When your Energy Shield breaks, is dismissed, or is dispelled, you may cast Arcane Burst, if you know it.
You may Intensify this Arcane Burst even though it does not cost you an action to cast.
If you used Shared Shield to redirect damage from a target other than yourself, you may use them as the point of origin for this Arcane Burst.
