Prepare Clone

Spell

Time:
10 minutes
Requirements:
A vessel made in your likeness
Cost:
Duration:
One month, or until the vessel is used

This ritual requires a new body or vessel made in your likeness for your soul to inhabit. You can acquire a suitable vessel during downtime. It is a C grade item of weight 4 which takes 2 effort to craft during downtime.

This ritual prepares your vessel to be your backup body, should you meet your demise at any time in the next month. After that time, you will have to repeat this ritual to remain ready to transfer your soul into the vessel, but may reuse the same vessel.

The enchantment on your vessel may be dispelled as usual, but attempting to Dispel that enchantment by targeting the caster does not work. The fact that a caster has a clone is difficult to detect through examination of the caster themselves using a test of Spellcraft. The DC for a test of Spellcraft to detect that someone has a clone is 30.

Suggested Backfire: The vessel is subtly flawed, or damaged, which will cause problems while you inhabit it. Or it is destroyed, requiring you to make a new one.

Body Hop

Spell

Time:
Trigger
Trigger:
When you are defeated
Requirements:
You must have prepared a vessel
Target:
You
Cost:

With the necessary preparations complete, when you are defeated, you may have your soul depart your body, and enter your specially prepared vessel, causing it to come to life, and leaving your previous body a dead and unrevivable husk. You are effectively revived in a new body. You are still you. Or are you? Your stats, including your maximum HP, remain the same, at any rate. Your gear remains on your old body. For those of you who are sentimental about your old bodies, you may prepare your old body as a vessel and use this spell on your old body (if it is still intact) to transfer back to it when your new body is defeated.
Your soul may travel any distance to reach this vessel in an instant. Once you have completed the transfer of your soul, the enchantment on the vessel ends. You do not need to continue performing the ritual to stay alive.

Attempting to use this spell before fully mastering it may result in coming back … wrong. As may using a flawed or damaged vessel.
If you have shrunk your vessel, you may choose to un-shrink it when your soul enters it.

This spell is hard to Counterspell, and has +16 to its Counterspell DC (the base DC to counter it if it is mastered is 35 instead of 19).

These do not require a binding slot.
As normal, any limits are shared across your clone, armor, and shield, incompatible modifiers still cannot be used together, and non-repeatable modifiers do not stack.
