Bardic Performance
Code:
CM 111
Qualifies For:
Level:
1
Study DC:
9
Spell (Uncounterable) (Undispellable)
Time:
Action to start, fast action to continue
Target:
You and all allies within earshot
Duration:
Until the start of your next turn
While performing this ability,
whenever you or an ally within earshot
rolls to hit or
rolls a test of skill,
you may give them a +1 on that roll.
While you are performing this ability, you have a -1 to all tests of Rogery to hide, unless Masking Performance is also being performed.
Counterspell:
This spell cannot be counterspelled.
Dispel:
If this spell is dispelled, it is only suppressed until the start of your next turn instead.
Bardic Magic:
Bardic magic songs provide bonuses while they are being performed.
Starting a bardic magic song takes an action, and requires passing a DC 10 social test of skill.
If you fail, you do not perform the song, and it has no effect.
If you pass, you perform the song and gain the benefits of the buff until the start of your next turn, at which point, you may try another test of skill to keep performing each song you are performing as a fast action. If you fail, that song ends.
At high levels of mastery, bardic magic songs can be started and continued without needing to pass a test of skill.
You may only have one active bardic magic song at a time (unless you learn abilities to increase that like Duet, Triad, and Quartet).
Additionally, on each of your turns, you may freely swap any bardic magic songs you are currently performing for any other bardic magic songs you know as a fast action.
You cannot end up playing more songs than you started with by swapping them.
Buffs from the same ability do not stack, unless otherwise stated.
(ex: two characters using Bardic Performance would only give a +1 bonus, not a +2 bonus.)
