The Great Tragedies

Ability

Time:
Action
Target:
Ranged: within earshot
Cost:
Diminish 1 if the target fails their save
Defense:
Social save negates, social save at end of turn ends
Duration:
Until the target passes their save

You roll a test of skill to set the DC for this ability.
Roll a test of saddening with a penalty equal to your current level of diminish to set the save DC for this ability’s effect.

Roll = d20 + social + skill - diminish.

You can use any skill befitting a test of saddening, including Expression or the saddening specific bonuses from this course.

The save DC to negate or end this effect becomes whatever you rolled, up to a maximum of 16
(ex: if you roll a 30 to intimidate an enemy, the save DC is 16).
The limit on the save DC only applies to converting the test of skill into a DC. Apply any DC modifiers afterwards, as normal.

Target must then pass a social save, or their eyes fill with tears unbidden and they become blinded (and sad) until they pass their save.
If the target fails this save, diminish 1.

The target gets another social save at the end of each of their turns to end this effect.
Do not diminish again if they fail this save to end the effect.
